Services

Music Therapy Services

  • Music Therapy Services

We provide on-site music therapy services focusing predominately on senior citizens and older adults in the comfort of their homes, within the convenience of senior living communities, and at local day programs and community senior centers. We contract our services with other organizations to best serve their communities, as well provide individual and in-home services on a private pay basis. Sound Inspirations Music Therapy offers a personally designed plan of care and looks to incorporate the evidenced-based practice of Music Therapy into the existing treatments of each client. All clients receive an initial assessment, continual evaluation throughout each session, and their progress is tracked and documented in period reports.

Music Lessons

  • Older Adult Piano Lessons

Individual lessons are customized to the desires, learning styles, and abilities of older adult students. Lessons are primarily held at a local community center or music studio, and in-home lessons are an option extended for exceptional situations. Learning to play an instrument or read music is a rewarding experience that helps to keep our brains active and engaged. We structure lessons based on the learning objectives expressed by the student rather than adhering to a strict lesson book series. Discover the fun; a new hobby, or rekindling the joy of learning a new pastime, playing the music that you enjoy!
  • Adapted Piano Lessons

These lessons, taught by educated music therapists, are adapted to the student's needs in order to create a successful experience for learning to play the piano in a manner different from typical lessons. It is accepted that an adapted lesson student may learn differently due to their strengths and abilities cognitively, physically, socially, or emotionally. The abilities and unlocked potential musicality of these students does not always lend well to the structure of typical piano lessons from other professionals who have a background or training in education or music performance. Develop your love of music making in a lesson specifically designed for you, with a teacher compassionate to your needs.

Educational Presentations

  • Music Therapy Advocacy Presentations

Our professional presentations are tailored for the attending audience and can be structured to range from a straight forward lecture style to learning through interactive musical engagement. We enjoy presenting about the various benefits of music therapy for specific populations of clients, or how music therapy programs can make a positive difference in specific settings throughout an organization or community. Our presentations can advocate about Music Therapy to other professionals as part of continuing education events; as part of networking events; for team building or self-care opportunities for the staff within an organization; to the public community and families interested in learning of this treatment option for their loved ones; and to students looking to learn more about this career field. Our most popular presentations are those that are interactive, with hands-on musical experiences to resonate new learning about Music Therapy.

Music Therapy Services

Interactive engagement in music interventions specifically designed by a board-certified music therapist as part of a therapeutic treatment process can function to affect positive change in a person’s social, emotional, mental, physical, or spiritual well-being. It is our mission to use the evidence-based practice of music therapy to address health and wellness concerns for individuals and their families.
